Are the chairs in this committee even needed? I think not. Even though the delegates were spinning around certain problems for quite a while, they managed to find the way through and gather their thoughts. The atmosphere was on a highest level of respect towards each other and never needed strict rules.
So, returning to the beginning, right after the delegates played a very interesting game, where they had to draw each other with different features, they started working real hard on their topic.
Hanna and Johan, as mentioned, practically didn't even need to be present. This because everyone was so dedicated and self-included into the debate. The motivating factor here is the opportunity to give their opinion about gene technology and issues that come with it.
In the beginning, everyone wrote their ideas down individually, and afterwards just talked about it and made basic ideas they later focused on.
Delegates wrote some interesting aims and problems:
-playing gods with eliminating diseases, or providing a longer and healthier life;
-chemical and biological weapons issues that does not present well-being to the world;
So it's quite obvious that delegates did have to put up with various and difficult issues.
Active conversations between them and mutual cooperation brought them to the point where they can easily start writing actual clauses in their resolution.
And for the end, Erlend, as an only guy in the committee, is hanging on pretty well among all the girls, which just seem to enjoy debating and debating and debating...
Good luck in GA tomorrow!
